Astraèa & Co is working towards a zero-waste packaging model where all packaging components can either be recycled or composted. Additionally, we further decrease our carbon footprint by avoiding product boxes. We only use sustainable, ethically sourced packaging materials.

Three Pillars of Zero Waste Packaging:

​

Reusable packaging is packaging that has a built-in second use — possibly even a third, fourth, or fifth use. While most packaging is typically dumped or recycled after you receive your package, our reusable packaging can be used multiple times for a variety of functions.

Recycled packaging is made from previously used products, including single use bags, bottles and other common items. The materials are processed at a recycling facility and put back into circulation, thus doubling its lifespan.

Compostable packaging is typically made from a number of renewable plant-based materials and/or bio-polymers. To be certified as home compostable, a product must break down in home compost within 180 days and 90 days in commercial composting conditions.

Our mailer boxes are made using sustainably sourced and recyclable materials

Our shipping labels are compostable

Our tissue is printed with soy-based inks, on FSC-certified paper, and is acid, sulphur, and lignin-free. Our tissue paper is 100% compostable, recyclable, and made from recycled materials.​

Our stickers are made from fully plastic-free and FSC-certified acid-free paper or sustainably sourced wood pulp. They are printed with vegan soy-based inks and are 100% biodegradable and compostable.

Our Kraft packaging tape is water-activated, environmentally friendly, FSC-certified and printed on acid free paper using soy-based inks.

Our note cards are recyclable, naturally biodegradable and compostable. They are printed on 100% recycled, 100% post-consumer waste, FSC Certified and Green Seal Certified card stock and printed with chlorine-free soy, vegetable or algae based inks.

Our shipping boxes are all recyclable

Our void fill is recyclable

Our marketing and sales materials are a mixture of recyclable,  naturally biodegradable/compostable, and 100% post-consumer waste.

Our product containers and boxes are all 100% recyclable; our goal is for them to be  made from 100% recycled materials by the end of 2023.
